Sebastián Espejo (b. 1990, Viña del Mar, Chile)
세바스티안 에스페호(b.1990)는 런던을 기반으로 활동하는 작가로, 회화를 주의 깊은 관찰의 한 방식으로 탐구합니다. 그의 작업은 자연 세계와 생명체, 시각적 경험, 빛의 인식과 같은 주제들을 회화 언어를 통해 깊이 있게 다루며, 회화를 통해 우리가 보는 방식과 존재하는 방식을 사유합니다. 칠레를 비롯해 영국, 미국, 한국, 대만 등 다양한 국가에서 활발히 전시 활동을 이어가고 있습니다. 선화랑에서는 5월 세바스티안 에스페호의 한국 첫 개인전을 선보입니다.
Sebastián Espejo is based in London, and his practice centers on painting as a form of attention.His work explores the language of painting in relation to the natural world, living organisms, visual experience, and the perception of light. He studied Visual Arts at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and has since exhibited widely across Chile, the UK, the USA, South Korea and Taiwan. SunGallery will present the artist’s first solo exhibition in Korea this coming May.
