ChaSoong Koo Solo Exhibition: 구자승

SunGallery presents a solo exhibition of realist artist ChaSoong Koo (b.1941) on view from October 29 to November 25. The artist says, ”creating art is dreaming a new dream.“ The subtle light and delicate forms that emerge on the canvas contain not just the outward appearance of objects, but the emotions and time of the moment encountering them, as well as the artist‘s own life. His paintings were once appreciated as cool figurative works with urban sophistication. However, looking deeper within, there is a warm breath and transparent light permeating the stillness. The extremely restrained canvas creates a tension that transcends reality, leading us to contemplate the essence of objects. In an era dominated by speed and image consumption, his works offer a time of ”pause.“ We hope this exhibition becomes a special opportunity for audience to discover new meanings in everyday objects and experience deep reflection on time and existence.
