저에게 있어 자연은 시간을 읽는 방식에 가깝습니다. 서로 다른 시간들이 한 공간 안에 공존하고 있음을 보여줍니다. 저는 이러한 모습을 통해 시간의 변화 과정을 바라봅니다. 요즘 시대는 모든 것들이 빠르게 생산되고 소비되지만, 제가 하는 작업은 그 반대의 방향에 있습니다. 오히려 시대의 흐름에 역행하듯 한 장소를 오래 바라보고, 그 안에서 조금씩 드러나는 변화를 따라가며 화면을 만들어 갑니다. 쉽게 지나쳐 버렸던 풍경과 사소한 흔적들은 오래 바라볼수록 다른 모습으로 다가오고, 저는 그 안에 머물며 화면을 구성해 나갑니다. 그 과정에서 보이지 않는 것들과 마주하며 화면을 쌓아가는 일은 저에게 세상을 바라보는 감각을 되새기는 과정이기도 합니다.

For me, nature is less a subject than a way of reading time. It reveals how different moments in time coexist within a single space, and through this, I observe the process of time's continuous transformation. Today, everything is produced and consumed at an ever-increasing speed, but my practice moves in the opposite direction. Rather than following the pace of the times, I remain with a single place for an extended period, patiently observing the subtle changes that gradually emerge and allowing them to shape the work. Landscapes and traces that might otherwise be overlooked begin to reveal themselves differently the longer I spend with them. I stay within those moments, slowly constructing each composition. In this process, encountering what cannot be immediately seen and building the image layer by layer becomes a way of renewing my perception of the world.
